CAVEAT FROM EXPERIENCE: Never EVER book your air tickets on the day immediately after your last paper.


So I happily thought my papers end on 2nd Dec and we booked our air tickets for 3rd-7th, joy !

.. NOT.

In a bid to make myself a more conscientious student I went to IVLE to check up on final exam dates (organise my schedule right..) AND TO MY HORROR realised I've a fucking paper on the evening of 3rd Dec.

1. Called Jetstar to ask for a waiver of change fees ($312 to change from 3rd to 4th)
and argued with the fucking customer service guy, who kept insisting they can't waive it because they're losing money for the seats. What fucked up reasoning is that ?

2. Emailed Dr Lehman asking to take the exam earlier, I want to believe that he'd help me if he had the authority but the fucked up in-charges replied him unfavourably.

"The whole process of setting exam paper and conducting exam etc. will need to be attended to. The Registrar’s Office, the BBA Office etc will have to be involved, not to mention the need for you to set an additional paper with similar standards and criteria" COMPLETE BULLSHIT. I'm sure you need to set another paper just for 2 students. Even if so, do it like Dr Chng did for ACC1002, just change a few questions. The possible negative effects of 2 students taking earlier will surely be less than that if we were to take it later. As for "conducting exam", I AM SURE WE CANT FIND A ROOM LOH. How many fucking rooms in Biz you tell me.

In short the NUS system is as rigid and fucked up as my cousin said.
Anyway I'm going to fucking argue with whoever I find in charge of this.
Also in the process of typing out a complain letter to jetstar and see what they'll do.
If no one relents.... Suck it up loh.


I just feel damn bad for the other 3 ppl I've dragged into this.
